Dina M. Silver, APR, is Director of Marketing
Communication at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. In her position,
Dina sets strategic direction and manages efforts to increase national
and international visibility for the university, and leads the
issues management function for the institution to preserve and
protect the reputation of the university and its leaders.
With more than a decade of experience, she has held positions at some of the
top public relations firms in the region. At these firms, FCF Public Relations,
Inc., STAR/ROSEN Public Relations and Tattar Richards-DBC, Dina created and
implemented award-winning campaigns for some of the nation’s and region’s
leading businesses and organizations, including The Kimmel Center for the
Performing Arts, ING Direct, Rohm and Haas, ARAMARK, Sprint
PCS, the Inter-City Games Foundation with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Airgas,
Inc., Virtua Health and The Philadelphia International Auto
Show.

Prior to entering the agency world, Dina held
positions in the non-profit and corporate sectors at the World
Affairs Council of Philadelphia (communications and development)
and Waste Management of Pennsylvania (community relations). Rounding
out her experience, Dina worked for a brief period in the political
arena, acting as campaign manager for a New Hampshire state senate
race.
Throughout her career, Dina’s work has been honored 16 times by the Philadelphia
Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)
at its annual awards program, The Pepperpots. The New York Chapter of PRSA also
recognized her work with its Golden Apple, making her one of the only Philadelphia
area representatives to receive this prestigious award.
Dina’s dedication to the field is highlighted through her work with PRSA.
In 2002, at age 31, Dina served as the youngest-ever president of the Philadelphia
Chapter of PRSA. A dedicated member since 1997, Dina was nominated
by her industry peers to serve several additional leadership positions, including
Pepperpot chair, secretary, vice president and director-at-large. Dina currently
serves the chapter as assembly delegate. She is also a member of PRSA’s National
Accreditation Marketing Taskforce and PRSA’s National Historical Archive
Project.
From providing pro bono counsel to Habitat for Humanity and the American
Heart Association to organizing annual service projects for the Eliza
Shirley House of the Salvation Army, Dina is dedicated to giving back
to her community through the use of her professional skills. Offering both
personal and professional time, Dina has contributed to many charitable organizations
in the region throughout her career, including United Way of Southeastern
Pennsylvania, Women’s Way, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Multiple
Sclerosis Society of America, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation.
Dina is also a member of The Savoy Company, the oldest amateur theater
company in the world dedicated to performing the works of Gilbert and Sullivan.
All proceeds benefit a multitude of organizations, including Associated
Services for the Blind, the American Cancer Society, Pennsylvania
Division, the Center for Autistic Children, Daemion House and
the Wharton Esherick Museum.
Dina holds a bachelor’s degree in French and political science/government
from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY. She resides in Warrington, PA
with her husband and her dog Izzy.
