Domestically, she has planned national and
regional media tours and garnered coverage in outlets such as Oprah!,
The Today Show, The View, CNN, Woman’s World, Cosmopolitan,
the Wall Street Journal, the Philadelphia Inquirer and USA Today.
Ms. Sharkey has planned and executed public
relations programs and provided strategic counsel on media response,
community relations and organizational issues.
She has served as a contributing writer to
various corporate and membership publications including Lockheed
Martin Technology Services Inc.’s employee magazine; “Better
Investing”, the membership magazine of the National Association
of Investor’s Corp.; and Graduate Hospital’s community
and internal publications, which she also edits.
Ms. Sharkey’s efforts have earned numerous
awards, including a Jasper (Jersey Shore Advertising & Public
Relations Association), various Pepperpots, the annual achievement
award presented by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations
Society of America (PRSA), including the coveted “Best of
Show” for an institutional community relations campaign;
and the chapter’s President’s Award in 2004.
Ms. Sharkey holds a bachelor’s degree
in communications and a master’s degree in public relations,
both from Rowan University. She is President of the Philadelphia
Chapter of PRSA.
