Held at the Four Season’s hotel on Wednesday, Dec. 1, the Pepperpot Gala is the Philadelphia area’s premiere public relations event, bringing together more than 300 PR professionals. A highlight of the evening, Larry Kane delivered the keynote address.

Also marking the night, PRSA Philadelphia’s 2005 Board of Directors was announced. For the first time in the chapter’s history, a vast majority of board members will be serving second terms in their positions, including President Scott Tattar.

“Philadelphia PRSA is healthier than ever,” says Tattar. “With a membership of more than 450, our chapter has a large pool of public relations talent, and the programs represented at this year’s awards reflect and celebrate these professionals’ work.”

FCF Schmidt received the “Best of Show” honor for its campaign “Towering Termite Tour for Termidor.” Cementing its place as the evening’s big winner, the agency won seven additional “’Pots.”

Star-Rosen took home five Pepperpots, emerging as the night’s second biggest winner. Other multiple first-place winners were Tattar Richards-DBC, University of Pennsylvania and Comcast, all with two awards each.

A total of 189 entries were judged.

Event chair Dana King thanked the many volunteers and sponsors that made the event possible.

“Each year, this event gets bigger and better,” says King. “I am grateful to everyone who contributed their time and talent to this night.”

Vox Medica created the event’s theme, “Hit the Jackpot at the Pepperpots,” and designed and developed the promotional pieces. Other sponsors included Business Wire, Gary Horn Photography, Central Lewmar, POMCO and MultiVu.
