Rowan University's public relations program is now one of only 14 programs nationwide that can boast PRSA Certification. A PRSA review team examined Rowan's curriculum, resources, facilities, faculty
qualifications, and university support for public relations education during a two and a half day period. PRSA officially presented Rowan
faculty with a certificate at the International Conference in New York City last month.

PRSSA
The Philadelphia Chapter supports public relations education and
professional development at the high school, college and career
levels. We
believe that students and new practitioners alike desire and deserve
access
to the people, programs, research, jobs, and other resources that
can help
them shape successful careers in PR.
At the scholastic level, we work with the Philadelphia High School
Academies
to expose hundreds of students each year to the benefits of a PR
career. At
the college level, we sponsor six pre- professional organizations
at
universities spread across Eastern Pennsylvania. And at the career
level, we
provide programs, seminars, accreditation training and testing,
and
leadership opportunities for anyone working in PR (see the Professional
Development section for more details).
We are especially proud of our work with the Public Relations Student
Society of America chapters at Rowan University, Temple University,
Villanova University, Drexel University, Lehigh University, Marywood
University and the University of Scranton. Over the last decade,
we have
hosted student intern fares, managed a mentoring program, created
an
Outstanding Student Practitioner of the Year Awards, sponsored student
attendance at the PRSSA national conference, recruited students
for our
volunteers committees, established student rates for our program
registrations, and facilitated internship placements.
Our efforts have not gone unnoticed. Our student chapters have won
hundreds
of regional and national PRSSA awards. Many of the major corporations,
universities, government offices, agencies and not-for-profit organizations
in our area employ PR grads from our six sponsorship schools. And
professionals across the country recognize the caliber of students
that have
been part of something truly special.
